I have been so excited to finally get a 'REAL' Outlook for the Mac, and thought this was going to be it - they promised it would finally catch up to Windows... but it's not... I literally run Parallels on my Mac ONLY for Outlook - so that I can have the Windows Outlook email client.

I was hoping I could stop... but the Mac Outlook 2015/2016 is still not caught up to Windows - I can't understand why they can't make it the same - why are we leaving out basic and simple functionality that has been in Windows Outlook for years:

Mac

- Most people have huge monitors these days, and everyone in our company uses the reading pane, and of course the reading pane works best on the RIGHT (not the bottom). In Windows Outlook we can control a million settings for the view, turning off rows and columns - so that with the reading pane on the right, we can control the columns and see FROM, SUBJECT, DATE - all in nice ONE ROW columns, with reading pane on the right. But in the Mac version, for some unfathomable reason, we can't do this - if you have the reading pane on the right, the columns turn OFF. WHY??? Columns work if you put the reading pane at the bottom, but not if it's on the right. This makes no sense. Why can't we have columns with reading pane in either view?

- To Do Bar/Calendar - also missing from Mac Outlook is the ability to have your To-Do Bar/Calendar to the right so you can see tasks, calendar items, etc. Another very useful feature used everyday in our office setup.

Other than these great features, Outlook for Mac does seem to be catching up... but I still cannot understand why Microsoft can't make their software work and act the same on both platforms like every other software company in the world. If you run Photoshop, Dream Weaver, or millions of other cross-platform applications, they all virtually run and look the same in both their Mac and Windows versions. But Microsoft insists on making the same software titles look completely different (and dumber) on Mac. STOP!

PLEASE make Outlook for Mac FINALLY do everything that Outlook for Windows does... why the madness year after year?
